March 5, 2021 - Atlanta, GA - In a game of two halves, Olympians FC had the might to get it right.

Following a scoreless first half, the teams combined for five second-half goals but a late header from defender Isreal Espinoza was the difference as Olympians FC defeated Capital City SC, 3-2, in a UPSL National Semifinal at Silverbacks Stadium.

Olympians FC (14-1-0 overall), the two-time Arizona Division champions, looked the more imposing side in the first half but neither team was able to capitalize on early opportunities.

In the second half, the Glendale, AZ-based club opened the scoring with a goal from Ricardo Gordillo-Velasquez and added another less than 10 minutes later when Alex Tejera chested down a rebound and slotted the ball into the back of the net for a 2-0 lead.

Undeterred, Austin, TX-based Capital City SC (10-1-4) fired back with a goal from John Morley in the 73rd minute and equalized in the 82nd when Keiran Furse cleaned up a loose ball in front of goal and rifled a shot past Olympians FC goal keeper Jose Cortez.

Back on level footing it seemed the game would be determined in extra time until Espinoza put his head on a corner kick in the 85th minute, pushing the ball over Capital City's goal line for the game-winner.

Olympians FC remains unbeaten this season. The UPSL West Region champions advance to the UPSL Championship Game at 3 p.m. ET on Sunday, March 7.
