July 8, 2020 – Los Angeles, CA – The United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) is pleased to announce Potros Football Club as its newest Division I member.

Based in Powder Springs, GA, Potros FC will begin UPSL play in the 2020 Fall Season as part of the Georgia Division. The club will host its UPSL home games in compliance with UPSL National Division I standards.

UPSL Vice President Christian Vallejos said, "We're very happy that Potros FC has come to join the UPSL. They are a team with a lot of experience in the ADASL. They want to do great things for the players in their community and they want to join a national league. We wish Potros FC and the Uranga family every success going forward."

Brothers Christopher Uranga and Benjamin Uranga created Potros FC in 2016 and have been members of the Atlanta District Amateur Soccer League (ADASL) since 2018. The club now will compete exclusively in the UPSL.

"UPSL was the best option for Potros FC to grow as a club and offer the best experience as we transition from adult amateur to Pro Development. The time in now because the club has found its identity and we continue to gain both experience and attention for what we do. Now we're ready to move to the next level and step into an environment that will allow us to continue moving forward," said Potros FC Team Manager Christopher Uranga.

Luis Uranga is Head Coach of Potros FC, Uranga played semi-professionally in Mexico for Atlante FC's reserve team and has more than 25 years coaching experience.

Potros Football Club is an American Soccer club currently based in Powder Springs, GA, and a new member of the United Premier Soccer League. Potros FC will play in the UPSL's Georgia Division.

Potros FC can participate in the qualifying rounds for the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup through their affiliation and membership with the UPSL, the U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) and the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA).

The UPSL was formed in 2011 and currently includes more than 300 teams nationwide. The UPSL is the largest Pro Development League in North America. Each UPSL team is individually owned and operated.

UPSL teams are eligible to participate in the U.S. Open Cup Qualifying Rounds through the league's affiliation with the U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) and the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA).
