UPSL Announces South Florida Expansion with City Soccer FC

West Palm Beach (Fla.)-Based Pro Development Club Joins Florida Division

January 14, 2020 – Los Angeles – The United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) is pleased to announce City Soccer FC as a member kicking off with the 2020 Spring Season.

Based in West Palm Beach (Fla.), City Soccer FC is a registered non-profit organization in the State of Florida, and will begin UPSL play in the Southeast Conference Florida Division. The club will host its home games at Canyon Fields (8802 W. Boynton Beach Blvd, Boynton Beach, FL 33472) in compliance with UPSL National League standards.

United Premier Soccer League Florida Division Manager Christian Vallejos said, "We're excited to have such a club as City Soccer FC in the UPSL. City Soccer FC is one of the elite indoor teams in the United States, has competed and won 5-a-side F5 World Cups in places like Beijing, China, and now they want to take on a new challenge in UPSL Florida. We wish them success preparing for the 2020 Spring Season."

City Soccer FC is owned by Boris Jofre and Andres Colman, the business entrepreneurs behind City Soccer (www.citysoccerindoor.com), the largest indoor soccer complex in South Florida.

City Soccer FC owner Andres Colman said, "Our vision has always been to grow as an organization. We believe that joining the UPSL is a great opportunity and the next step to give our players the best exposure and competition in the area. We're looking forward to getting on the field and testing ourselves against some of the best clubs in Florida in 2020."

City Soccer FC began competing in local indoor leagues in 2011 and has won numerous local, state and international tournaments, including the 2017 F5WC in Beijing, China, as representatives of the United States. The club has since focused on outdoor competition in the West Palm Beach (Fla.) area.

Ariel Santin is as Head Coach of City Soccer FC. A Native of Argentina, Santin played professionally in his home country, and has more than 15 years of experience playing and coaching in South Florida. Juan Ramirez serves as his Assistant Coach.

The club will announce tryouts and its upcoming game schedule.

City Soccer FC is an American Soccer club currently based in West Palm Beach, Fla., and a new member of the United Premier Soccer League. City Soccer FC will begin play in the UPSL Southeast Conference.

Founded in 2011, City Soccer FC can participate in the qualifying rounds for the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup through their affiliation and membership with the UPSL, the U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) and the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA).

United Premier Soccer League

The UPSL was formed in 2011 and currently includes more than 300 teams in Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia and Wisconsin. UPSL is the fastest growing Pro Development League in the USA, with 500-plus teams targeted for the 2020 Spring Season. Each UPSL team is individually owned and operated, and is responsible for maintaining either UPSL Pro Premier Division or Championship Division minimum standards.

UPSL teams are all eligible to participate in the U.S. Open Cup Qualifying Rounds through the leagues affiliation with the U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) and the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA).
