United Premier Soccer League Announces National Championship Finals in Miami

Barry Universitys Soccer-Specific Stadium to Host UPSL Championship Weekend

January 14, 2020 – Los Angeles, CA – The United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) is excited to announce its upcoming National Championship Finals will be showcased at Miami (Fla.)'s Barry University.

The UPSL National Semifinals are Saturday, Feb. 8, followed by the UPSL National Championship Final on Sunday, Feb. 9 at soccer-specific Buccaneer Stadium on the campus of Barry University in Miami Shores (Fla.).

United Premier Soccer League Commissioner Yan Skwara said, "The UPSL is ready for its moment in the national spotlight as we head to Barry University in South Florida for this season's National Championship Final. The four clubs participating will be among the best in the United States, and this weekend in Miami Shores will be tremendous for the clubs, the league, our sponsors and fans. We are looking forward to a great Championship Finals weekend and some great UPSL soccer."

United Premier Soccer League Florida Division Manager Christian Vallejos said, "The UPSL Florida Division is so excited to be hosting UPSL Championship Weekend! Personally, it gives me great satisfaction to bring the UPSL National Final to Florida, and to have it on the pristine grass surface with no American football lines at Barry University's Buccaneer Stadium will be a treat for the UPSL finalists and fans from around the country."

Buccaneer Stadium at Barry University (11300 NE 2nd Ave., Miami Shores, FL 33161) will be the site of the UPSL National Semifinals, scheduled for 5:30 p.m. ET and 7:30 p.m. ET, respectively, and the UPSL 2019 National Championship Final at 3 p.m. ET on Sunday, Feb. 8.

All games will be streamed at www.mycujoo.com.

Mayland Bobcats FC is the first of four clubs to qualify for the UPSL National Semifinal, while the other entrants are to be determined. Seeding and pairings will be set prior to the kickoff of the first UPSL semifinal match.

The UPSL was formed in 2011 and currently includes more than 300 teams in Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, Virginia and Wisconsin. UPSL is the fastest growing Pro Development League in the USA, with 400-plus teams targeted for 2019 Fall Season. Each UPSL team is individually owned and operated, and is responsible for maintaining either UPSL Pro Premier Division or Championship Division minimum standards.

UPSL teams are all eligible to participate in the U.S. Open Cup Qualifying Rounds through the leagues affiliation with the U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) and the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA).
