January 9, 2020 – Los Angeles – The United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) is pleased to announce River City SC as a member kicking off with the 2020 Spring Season.

Based in San Marcos (Texas), River City SC is owned by Summers Sport Management Group LLC, and will begin UPSL play in the Central Conference Heart Division. The club will host its UPSL home games at San Marcos High School (2601 Rattler Road, San Marcos, TX 78666) in compliance with UPSL National League standards.

United Premier Soccer League National Director Matt Kahla said, "We're very excited to welcome River City SC to the Heart Division in the Central Conference. Cade Summers is a driven and passionate individual and he's building something special in San Marcos. Cade knows the ins-and-outs of this level, and we fully expect River City SC to be competitive on the field and in the market. We wish River City SC the best of success as it prepares to kick off with the 2020 Spring Season."

River City SC is the first men's professional development soccer program in San Marcos (Texas), and will compete exclusively in the UPSL.

Summers Sport Management LLC is owned by father and son Brad Summer and Cade Summers.

A native Oklahoman, Brad Summers is a career firefighter and business owner in Norman (Okla.), specializing in the construction industry.

A former collegiate soccer player, Cade Summers is a U.S. Army veteran and business entrepreneur currently pursuing a degree in sports management.

River City SC General Manager Cade Summers said, "The UPSL is committed to growing the lower division of soccer in the United States, and we want to be a part of that growth. Having seen the great competition in the Heart Division the last three seasons, we look forward to making an instant impact. The right time is now. It's simple; there's no better time than the present to create a new legacy. San Marcos and the surrounding area need a team and something they can rally behind. We want to give them that, along with an opportunity for ANY player to show the work their skills without a factor like money holding them back."

River City SC is a fully-funded venture, will not require players to make a financial commitment, and is "100 percent free for our players, with no monthly tuition or uniform fees," Cade Summers said.

The club will announce tryouts and its upcoming game schedule.
