Stanislaus County (Calif.)-Based Club Joins Wild West Division for 2020 Season

January 8, 2020 – Los Angeles – The United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) is pleased to announce Cruizers FC as a member kicking off with the 2020 Spring Season.

Based in Stanislaus County (Calif.), Cruizers FC will begin UPSL play in the Western Conference Wild West Division. The club will host its UPSL home games at Turlock Sports Park (801 North Soderquist Road, Turlock, CA 95380) in compliance with UPSL National League standards.

United Premier Soccer League Wild West Division Manager Nick Arellano said, "We're excited to build out the Central Valley market for the UPSL, so it's great to have Cruizers FC join us for the 2020 season. Ivan Vovk runs a successful program, and there's a lot of good talent in Stanislaus County and throughout Modesto, Turlock and down to Fresno. Cruizers FC should be able to capitalize on some of that. We wish them the best of luck in getting ready for the Spring Season."

Cruizers FC is the next step for the club, which has previous experience in Northern California and Central Valley-based leagues. Cruizers FC will compete exclusively in the UPSL.

Rudy Gonzalez, Fred Rasuli and Ivan Vovk together partnered to create Cruizers FC.

A coach with extensive youth-to-professional experience in North America and Europe, Gonzalez holds a UEFA 'A' Coaching License and has collaborated with the Spanish Soccer Federation and many club in Spain including Real Betis Balompie, Ecija Balompie and Sevilla, among others.

Cruizers FC President Rudy Gonzalez said, "We've come together as a group and have decided to create an opportunity for the players in the Stanislaus County area to play professional soccer. We have a vision to build a platform for talented local soccer players in the Central Valley, and to compete at a higher level. The Cruizer originates from the popularity of cruising a graffiti in the Central Valley, specifically in Modesto and Turlock, and the club is focused on making Cruizers FC a movement to build a thriving soccer community."

Rasuli serves as Director of Operations and Vice President of Communications for Cruizers FC. A long-time youth coach with several nationally-ranked teams to his credit, Rasuli is CEO of Turlock Sports Park and Turlock Youth Sports Foundation, a year-round youth development academy.

Vovk is Head Coach and Vice President of Sponsorship Development for Cruizers FC. The founder of Modesto United Futbol Club, Vovk's teams previously competed in Liga NorCal, among others.

Cruizers FC will launch its youth academy at Turlock Sports Park later this year, training and developing players 4 years and older, and exposing players 16 years and older to higher level competition.

The club will host a one-day open tryout at 10 a.m. PT on Saturday, Jan. 25 at Turlock Sports Park, and will announce its upcoming game schedule.
