UPSL Announces Florida Expansion with Adrestia Football Club

Miami (Fla.)-Based Pro Development Club Will Join Florida South Division

November 1, 2019 – Los Angeles – The United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) is excited to announce Adrestia Football Club as a new member kicking off with the 2020 Spring Season.

Based in Miami (Fla.), Adrestia Football Club is owned by Adrestia Sports Management, LLC, and will begin UPSL play in the Southeast Conference Florida South Division. It will play its home games at Little Haiti Soccer Park (6301 NE 2nd Ave., Miami, FL 33138) in compliance with UPSL's National Standards.

United Premier Soccer League Florida Division Manager Christian Vallejos said, "We're pleased to welcome Adrestia Football Club to the UPSL Florida South Division. Adrestia FC is well versed in the needs and aspirations of footballers in South Florida, and has a lot to offer to players looking to advance their careers. We wish Adrestia FC well as it prepares for the 2020 Spring Season ahead."

Cheyenne Rodriguez is Owner of Adrestia FC. Born in Uruguay, Rodriguez graduated from Miami Beach Senior High School, was a collegiate swimmer at Ft. Lauderdale (Fla.)'s Nova Southeastern University, and is currently pursuing a degree in law.

Adrestia Football Club Owner Cheyenne Rodriguez said, "Adrestia Football Club was founded on the principles instilled by a mixture of American and Uruguayan ideals. We simply love the sport and want to share this passion with a community within Miami, Florida. We chose the UPSL because it best aligned with the vision we have for this club. Playing in this league allows us to develop players in a local setting, connect with the community, and ultimately play on a national scale. The establishment of Adrestia FC is something which we hope becomes exemplary in its execution and rewarding in its development. We look forward to competing against the other teams in the Florida South Division."

Pablo Rodriguez is Head Coach of Adrestia Football Club.

Adrestia Football Club is an American Soccer club currently based in Miami (Fla.), and a new member of the United Premier Soccer League. Adrestia FC will begin play in the UPSL Southeast Conference.

Founded in 2019, Adrestia FC can participate in the qualifying rounds for the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup through their affiliation and membership with the UPSL, the U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) and the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA).

The UPSL was formed in 2011 and currently includes more than 300 teams in Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, Virginia and Wisconsin. UPSL is the fastest growing Pro Development League in the USA, with 500-plus teams targeted for 2020 Spring Season. Each UPSL team is individually owned and operated, and is responsible for maintaining UPSL national minimum standards.

UPSL teams are all eligible to participate in the U.S. Open Cup Qualifying Rounds through the leagues affiliation with the U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) and the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA).
